Check Out the New SFWA Website and My Article!
Posted on August 2, 2009 by Monica Valentinelli
Folks, I am pleased to share with you that the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America have just rolled out a brand new website located at http://www.sfwa.org. This look and feel, in my opinion, was a much needed face lift to not only bring the website’s technology and design up-to-date, but also to highlight some of the industry-facing news that affects many writers, editors and publishers of the genre. Here’s a little bit more about the SFWA organization from their website:
SWFA informs, supports, promotes, defends and advocates for its members. We host the prestigious Nebula Awards, assist members in legal disputes with publishers, and administer benevolent funds for authors facing medical or legal expenses. Novice authors benefit from our Information Center and the well-known Writer Beware site. –SOURCE: Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America Website
While you’re checking out the new website, you might want to read an article I wrote for SFWA about personalization in online marketing.
Here is an excerpt from the article:
Get Personal with your Marketing Efforts
In recent years, the topic of online marketing has become more of a focal point for several authors. Coupled with the changes in the publishing industry and advances in technology, I seem to have more discussions about online marketing than I do about writing fiction, in part because I’ve been involved in online marketing professionally for the past few years.
