Will the Apprentice become the Master and betray his allies? Will he give in to Hatred and begin the cycle anew?
The Apprentice did as he should, seeking to strike down his Master and replace him. He failed and was sacrificed to the Cold Gods. Shackled to an iceberg, he was cast adrift to freeze as a proper sacrifice. He refused.
In the dark, frigid north he found an icebound ship with 4 starving Noderin warriors on a quest to destroy a great evil… His Master.
How will the Apprentice and the warriors survive the hardships of the ice and reach land?
What horrors lie in wait for them on their quest?
Will they be able to even find the lair of the Master? If they do, will the Apprentice claim what is his? By the time he kills the Master, will he be prepared to sacrifice his comrades?

Conspiracy of Shadows: Apprentice is a short form, self-contained role-playing game centered around one man’s quest to take the place of his master. In the game, you and your friends will take on the role of a small band of northern warriors and the mysterious Apprentice as they travel the wild frozen north to find and destroy the Master. The goal of this kickstarter is to raise funds to publish this short form game, both as a traditional printed document and as a handcrafted artifact.
The rules of Conspiracy of Shadows: Apprentice utilize a simple system centered around the Elder Futhark runes. The rules and rune stones combine to create an entertaining game while maintaing pulling you into the world and culture of the northmen. Ultimately they guide play while staying out of the way of the fun.
