Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.2 Now Available!
Posted on April 22, 2025 by Flames
The Dungeons & Dragons team has officially released the System Reference Document (SRD) 5.2 into Creative Commons. This update builds on the foundation of SRD 5.1 and reflects the team’s continued effort to support the passionate, talented creators who make the D&D community thrive. SRD 5.2 allows creators to utilize the updated core rules to publish their own TTRPG content and keep full ownership and control of their creations.
SRD 5.2 expands on existing content with additional spells, feats, monsters, and equipment, giving creators more tools than ever to design adventures, worlds, and rulesets that capture their unique visions. The team will be adding transition resources to help creators smoothly adapt from SRD 5.1.
Going forward, the team has made a landmark decision: the SRD will be part of the errata process for the first time! This allows them to regularly update the SRD as official clarifications and corrections are published for the Core Rulebooks. Creators can track changes and select the version that best suits their needs by referencing version numbers associated with updates.
You can find additional SRD 5.2 information and a FAQ covering important questions at: SRD v5.2 System Reference Document on DnD Beyond.
Want to create new D&D content? We also recommend picking up the D&D 2024 bundle which contains the latest Monster Manual, Player’s Handbook, and Dungeon Master’s Guide. If you’re keen on picking up just one book, we think you’ll love the Player’s Handbook 2024.
