The Graphic Novel rights to Vampire Apocalypse have been licensed by US indie comic publisher New Baby Productions and the first Vampire Apocalypse graphic novel is in development and scheduled for an early 2011 release. “In recent pop culture, vampires have been turned into beings that should be loved. Derek Gunn returns vampires to the blood-thirsty dangerous monsters that they should be,” stated New Baby Publisher Eric Mullarky. “This is the perfect story to launch New Baby into the horror genre.”
Film Rights to the first Vampire Apocalypse book A WORLD TORN ASUNDER are optioned and an adaptation is in development. Said Richard Finney of his decision to option the Irish writer’s cult Vampire novel: “It seems like we’ve [already] seen everything, but this novel puts forth a [new] take on the universe. The original concept will allow us as filmmakers to explore new terrain in the subgenre. Gunn’s story also takes the sexy posturing out of vampires and turns them back to what they are: bloodsucking animals that feed on humans.” Fangoria.
