The Last War has begun…Cthulhutech
Posted on March 17, 2008 by Matt-M-McElroy
Mongoose Publishing has released the Cthulhutech Main Rulebook as an eBook with a reprint of the paper version on the way to stores sometime next month.
2085. Humanity faces extinction. Alien insects from the edge of our solar system, long hidden behind the façade of reality, descend to enslave us. Hordes of unspeakable horrors roll out from Central Asia, laying waste to anything in their path. The church of the fish-god scours the world for lost occult secrets to unleash terrible forces. Dead gods awaken and turn their dreadful eyes toward the Earth. And within hides a cancer, eating away at the very heart of the New Earth Government.
This is the Aeon War. This is the time of CthulhuTech.
Sounds like an amazing setting. Apparently included is nine short stories that explore the Aeon War in addition to the setting/history chapters of the book. Very cool. I’m not familiar with the Framework system, but how can you resist:
Climb inside a thirty-foot tall war machine and rain down hell on the unwavering Migou. Fight tooth and nail on the front lines against the horrific beasts of the Rapine Storm. Seek out the disgusting corruption of the insidious Esoteric Order of Dagon. Explore the dark world of the malignant Chrysalis Corporation and their unseen monstrous agents.
At first I thought $34.97 was a little high for an eBook, but really, that is 30% off the cover price and all the print copies to date had binding issues. There is a new printing on the way sometime next month, but those will be full price ($49.95, ouch). So, its up to you, full price next month or 30% off and instant Aeon War fun available at RPGNow.com.

It seems a bit expensive for the printed copy because printing in full color is extremely expensive. It’s an extemely dense book with 87 pieces of great looking full color art and everything you need to play is included short of the 10 sided dice and pencils;) If you’d like more info on the setting I’d definitely invite you to check out our site and the forums which we (the developers) check and post in daily!
