HP Lovecrafts At the Mountains of Madness for Beginning Readers | Rust-Colored Cover with a Black and White illustration of a beast with eyes and mouths

The Old Ones are squirming! Readers of all ages can enjoy a brand new illustrated title from Chaosium Publishing called “H.P. Lovecraft’s At the Mountains of Madness for Beginning Readers“. Written and colorfully illustrated by R.J. Ivankovic, this kid-friendly story is a carefully-rhymed retelling of “At the Mountains of Madness” that first debuted in 1936.

The Call of Cthulhu (1928) has also been adapted to an illustrated children’s book. Littlest Lovecraft: The Call of Cthulhu by Tro Rex and Eyona Bella is a 64-page faithful iteration of the classic story. When Thurston receives a mysterious box from his late grand-uncle, it leads to a terrible obsession. Follow his quest to learn the truth about strange statues, crazed cultists, and the great and monstrous Cthulhu.

Last, but not least, is the cult classic Where the Deep Ones Are. Written by Kenneth Hite and illustrated by Andy Hopp, this 18-page children’s book is a parody of classic children’s stories set in the Mythos. Little Bobby gets sent to his room without any supper, and it’s his favorite — fish! But he escapes via a boat that takes him to the town of Innsmouth. It’s a magical place full of fish and even slimier things. Will Bobby join the Wild Rumpus under the sea and be crowned the most Deep One of all?
